To make the Districts, NS Bikes started by buying the very best Japanese cromoly that is available on the market. Next, the bars go through a complex process of multiple butting and shaping. Specifically designed tools were used to get the unique shape – note that all the bends have a large radius to minimise material deformation and get that special relaxed look. After that the bars go through a carefully controlled heat treating process, and after that they are ready to get the high end finish using powdercoat paint and decals under a clear coat of paint.
A few words about how this bar came about from Erenes: “We literally made hundreds of drawings and 3D simulations just to get the right look of the shape. We had to make special tools to manufacture this bar because everything is non-standard. About the geometry - I had a problem with not having enough backsweep on my bars, so I cut them really narrow. Two years ago all my bars were 600-620mm wide and the old uncut District at 660 was too wide for me. But with the new bar, I'm completely comfortable with 710mm! This bar really rules, especially for use with rigid forks!”
The District fits both BMX & MTB stems as they are 22.2 clamp size but the 25.4->22.2 shims are included.
